Safety on Twinkles
Safety comes first on Twinkles, for the women who take calls and for everyone who makes them. Here is exactly how it works.
Is Twinkles safe for women?
Twinkles is built so a woman can talk to new people without giving out her phone number or a photo. Stars, the women on Twinkles, are verified by our team, go online only when they choose, and can decline, end, block or report any call. Twinkles does not record calls, chat is text only, and reports go to our safety team.
Who can see my phone number?
No one. Your phone number is never shown in Twinkles, to Wishers or to Stars.
- Stars see each caller only as a Wisher number, never a name or phone number.
- A Star’s profile shows the name she chooses, an illustrated avatar, her languages and anything else she adds, such as a city or a short bio. It never shows a photo of her.
- Your city is optional, and Twinkles does not collect your phone’s location.
Are calls recorded?
Twinkles does not record calls. Voice and video calls are relayed live, and the face check on video calls runs on the phone itself. But on a video call the other person sees your face, and no app can stop someone recording their own screen.
- Recording someone else’s call without their permission is against our Community Guidelines.
- If an image of you is shared, report it as an intimate image. Requests to remove intimate or morphed images are handled within 24 hours.
Can someone send me photos or videos in chat?
No. Chat on Twinkles is text only: there is no way to send a photo, a video or a file. Chat also hides the phone numbers, handles and links it detects.
- Video calls are different: you see the other person’s camera live. If anything sexual appears, end the call and report it as sexual content. You can decline any video call.
What can I do if a call feels wrong?
End it. You can end any call at once, then block or report the person from the call, the chat or the screen after the call. Blocking ends a live call and stops all contact between you.
- Stars go online only when they choose, and can decline any call, voice or video.
- Report reasons include harassment, sexual content, someone asking for your contact details, scams, fake profiles, intimate images and someone who seems underage.
What happens when I report someone?
Your report goes to our safety team for review. Confirmed violations lead to a warning, a restriction or a ban, and we can block a device so a banned person cannot simply come back with a new number.
- Reports about someone underage, child safety or intimate images are reviewed first.
- Our team can end a live call.
What is not allowed on Twinkles?
Nudity, sexual content, sexual solicitation, harassment, threats, discrimination, impersonation and scams are not allowed anywhere: in profiles, chats and calls. Twinkles is for friendly conversation and is not a dating or escort service. The Community Guidelines have the full rules.
How do you keep minors out?
Twinkles is only for people aged 18 or older. Anyone who gives a date of birth under 18 at sign-up is locked out, and that phone cannot simply try again. Every Star’s voice is also reviewed by our team. Please report anyone who seems underage: those reports are reviewed first. See our Child Safety Standards.
Do Stars ever have to pay Twinkles?
No. Stars never pay anything on Twinkles: no joining fee, no deposit and nothing to buy. If anyone asks you to pay to become a Star or to release your earnings, it is a scam. Please report it.
Are my bank details and PAN safe?
Your UPI ID or bank details and your PAN are stored encrypted and shown masked. Changing them starts a waiting period before you can withdraw, so someone who gets hold of your phone cannot redirect your earnings at once.
Is Twinkles safe for Wishers too?
Yes. Stars never see a Wisher’s name or phone number, and the same end, block and report controls work on every call and chat, for everyone.
How fast do you respond to a complaint?
Our Grievance Officer acknowledges a complaint within 24 hours and resolves it within 15 days. Requests to remove intimate or morphed images are handled within 24 hours. See Contact & Grievance.
What if I am in danger?
Our team cannot send help. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112. For the Women Helpline, call 181. To report cyber crime or online fraud, call 1930 or use cybercrime.gov.in.
